Editorial Policy — How We Create and Review Our Content

Our Mission

SecureDrivePro exists to help American drivers make informed decisions about auto insurance. We do this by publishing clear, accurate, and actionable educational content — free from industry jargon and sales pressure.

How We Create Content

Research

Every article begins with primary source research. We consult:

  • State Department of Insurance websites and regulatory filings
  • National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) reports and data
  • Insurance Information Institute (III) publications
  • ISO Personal Auto Policy (PAP) form language (PP 00 01)
  • Published court decisions affecting insurance coverage interpretations
  • Carrier-specific policy documents and rate filings

Writing

All content is written by team members with direct experience in the insurance industry. We prioritize:

  • Clarity: Complex concepts explained in everyday language
  • Specificity: Concrete examples, dollar amounts, and real-world scenarios
  • Honesty: If the answer is “it depends,” we explain the variables rather than oversimplifying

Review

Before publication, every article is reviewed by at least one additional team member for factual accuracy, currency of state-specific legal information, completeness, and readability.

How We Handle Updates

Insurance regulations change frequently. We review our published content on an ongoing basis and update articles when a state changes its minimum coverage requirements, a significant court ruling affects coverage interpretation, industry data or average rates shift meaningfully, or a reader or expert alerts us to outdated information.

All substantive updates are noted with a “Last updated” date at the top of the article.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe any information on our site is incorrect, please contact us at editor@securedrivepro.com. We investigate every report and publish corrections promptly with a transparent note explaining what was changed and why.

Independence & Conflicts of Interest

SecureDrivePro is funded through advertising revenue. No insurance company, agent, or broker can pay to influence our editorial content, our recommendations, or the ranking of any company within our guides. Our editorial team operates independently from our business operations.
