About SecureDrivePro — Real Insurance Expertise, Not Sales Pitches

We Started Because We Got Burned

In 2023, our founder overpaid for car insurance by nearly $1,400 — for two years straight. Not because better options weren’t available, but because the information out there was either buried in jargon, designed to funnel you into a sales call, or just plain wrong.

That experience planted a seed: What if there was a site that explained auto insurance the way a smart friend would — clearly, honestly, and without trying to sell you something?

SecureDrivePro launched in late 2024 as a small project covering a handful of states. Today, we publish in-depth guides covering insurance laws, claims processes, and cost-saving strategies across all 50 states. We are not an insurance company. We don’t sell policies. We don’t take commissions. We’re an independent educational resource, funded by advertising, and our only agenda is helping you understand what you’re paying for.

What Makes Us Different

We’re Written by Insurance People, Not Content Farms

Every article on this site is written or reviewed by someone who has actually worked in the insurance industry — adjusters, underwriters, and licensed agents who’ve seen the system from the inside. When we say “your insurer might deny this claim,” it’s because we’ve seen it happen, not because we read it on another blog.

We Cite Our Sources

Insurance is a regulated industry, and the rules change constantly. We reference official sources — state Department of Insurance filings, NAIC data, ISO policy forms — and we link to them so you can verify our claims yourself. If we quote a statistic, we tell you where it came from.

We Don’t Hide Behind Corporate Speak

Insurance documents are written by lawyers for lawyers. Our job is to translate that into plain English. If a policy exclusion is unfair, we’ll say so. If a common “trick” saves money, we’ll explain it. We write the way we’d talk to a friend asking for advice over coffee.

Our Editorial Standards

  • Accuracy First: Every factual claim is cross-checked against at least two authoritative sources.
  • Regular Updates: State laws change. Rate filings get approved. We revisit and update our guides on a rolling basis.
  • No Pay-to-Play: No insurance company can pay to influence our content or rankings within our guides.
  • Transparent Corrections: If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction publicly.

Our Team

Sarah Mitchell — Senior Auto Insurance Analyst & Lead Editor
Sarah has spent over 12 years in the auto insurance industry. She began her career as a claims adjuster at a regional carrier in Maryland, where she handled everything from fender-benders to six-figure total loss disputes. After earning her Property & Casualty (P&C) license and completing her Associate in Claims (AIC) designation, she transitioned into consumer advocacy — helping everyday drivers understand the fine print that insurance companies hope you’ll never read. At SecureDrivePro, Sarah leads our editorial team and personally reviews every guide we publish.

James Kowalski — Contributing Editor & Rate Analyst
James spent 8 years in commercial and personal auto underwriting before joining SecureDrivePro as a contributing editor. His specialty is rate-setting mechanics — he’s the person who can explain exactly why your premium jumped $200 after a speeding ticket in Ohio versus the same ticket in California. James reviews our state-specific guides and rate analyses for technical accuracy.
